Welcome to the Sandbox, where YAT's youngest actors find their voices! Kindergarten through 3rd grade students will build an original story inspired by the Fairy Godmother in the Cinderella fairy tale. Be prepared for a high-energy class where we'll focus on confidence, creativity, and discipline.

In this class, Kindergarten through 3rd-grade students will work with YAT's Justin Wade to build an original story inspired by the Cinderella fairy tale. Be prepared for a high-energy, outdoor class where we'll use the beautiful setting of the Indianapolis Art Center to tell a new version of Cinderella!
Please note that this class is IN-PERSON only. Students are required to wear masks throughout the duration of in-person classes, and we will be staying outdoors most of the time, even when it's cold.
You know the story, and you know the hero. But without all the other people that cross Cinderella’s path, you don’t have a story. Spend a session exploring the story of Cinderella's Fairy Godmother!

Please note that this class is a HYBRID class, meeting on Tuesdays online and on Saturdays at YAT's rehearsal venue at Central State. Students are required to wear masks throughout the duration of in-person classes, and we will be staying outdoors most of the time, even when it's cold.
You know Cinderella's story, but what about her two stepsisters? Spend a session exploring the stories of the stepsisters, and create an original play that shows how they came to be in the classic fairy tale.

You know the Cinderella story, and you know the hero. But without Cinderella's Stepsisters? They get a bad rap, but what's their story? Spend a session exploring the Stepsisters with YAT's Artistic Director, Georgeanna Smith Wade, and bring the characters to life on the outdoor campus of the former Central State Hospital. Open to Grades 7-12.

Costume Crew designs and builds the costumes for all the original plays YAT produces each semester! If you're interested in fashion, sewing, and theatre, this is the place for you. Limited to 10 students; sign up promptly.

Students are required to wear masks throughout the duration of in-person classes. We will be socially distanced in the downstairs rehearsal space, and will keep both doors open even when it's cold, so prepare to dress warmly!
You know Cinderella, but what about her Prince? Spend a session exploring the Prince Charming of the Cinderella story! We'll work as a group to tell an original story about the Prince, using the beautiful grounds of the Indianapolis Art Center as our stage.
