Take the Spotlight this Summer

In light of COVID-19, adjustments have
been made to classes. Please refer to
each section and note the adjustments.

The Experiment

The Experiment | 4th-12th

Located at: Camp Rivervale, Mitchell, IN

Camp Theme: Adventure Earth

4th-12th grade students will hone their confidence, grow their creativity, and challenge their discipline in our annual, week long sleep away camp! Students can join YAT staff and professional artists for a technology-free week unlike any other: an immersive theatrical experience inspired by our one and only home planet that bridges theatre and environmental science curriculums. By connecting with our natural surroundings we will find a deeper connection with ourselves and with each other. This summer's theatrical experience will explore those connections and dive deep into the Indiana wilderness. Pulling inspiration from what we learn about the natural world, we'll build an immersive theatrical experience as well as a better understanding of our place in the world.

COVID-19 Update: As of now, the Experiment is scheduled for July 5th-11th, falling after the July 4th estimate of general re-opening from the Governor.  We remain hopeful that we can safely conduct The Experiment as planned at Camp Rivervale, but are also exploring the option of turning it into a day camp.  We will know more in a few weeks, and will keep this page updated.

July 5th-11th
at Camp Rivervale | 496 Rivervale Road, Mitchell, IN 47446

Virtual Classic YAT | 4th-12th

Directed by: Georgeanna Smith-Wade | Assistant Director: Alethea Harnish

A Midsummer Night's Dream

This summer, we're bringing William Shakespeare’s classic comedy to life! Get ready for mischievous fairies, mistaken lovers, a play within a play, and much more.

Amidst the COVID-19 crisis, we are turning this production of A Midsummer Night's Dream into a film! We will audition, study, rehearse, and record the play online, and will end the session with a film of the production!

Everyone who signs up will get a role, but we will have an “audition day” on Monday, June 8th. Classic YAT performances are run more like traditional theatre, not Self-Empowerment Theatre. That means you might not be called to every single rehearsal!

Assistant directors and stage managers needed.
