Directing - Spring Playground Form
For 9th - 12th graders. This internship works under the guidance of the director. Interns will engage in the creative process of devising a play with a group of thirty students. Interns should be self-directed individuals who are eager about learning unique theatre styles, teaching, and empowering youth for life.

Administration -
For 9th - 12th graders. These interns will work directly with Justin Wade, our Executive Artistic Director, and learn about not-for-profit management. Social networking, marketing, publicity, and organization will be the forefront of tasks.


Development -
Assist the executive staff to build our fundraising opportunities. Research potential grant sources, assist the managing director in grant writing, researching, growing, and managing databases of current individual donors. Work with the executive staff to create a strategy for reaching and engaging more individual donors. Create a database of potential sponsoring corporations and a strategy for creating more corporate sponsorship opportunities.

Marketing -
Create press releases, act as liaison with print media, news outlets, and more for the Playground and the Woods performances. Assist the Associate Artistic Director Georgeanna Smith and Executive Artistic Director Justin Wade in creating and utilizing a marketing strategy for the Court. Research and report on other marketing techniques for us to better utilize and increase our reach (social media, billboards, etc). Create a database of the best locations for posters/postcards, etc.

Teaching/Directing -
Assist one of the Youngsterz, Kidz or Teenz classes. This internship will work under the director and will learn how to devise a theatre piece with thirty students. Interns will learn how to plan and execute lessons, create lessons specifically for devised theatre, collaborate with students on the piece in progress, and run a successful theatrical rehearsal. Hours dependent upon the class.

Costuming -
Assist the YAT staff with design/construction and alteration of costumes, make-up, and hair. This position will have the chance to design, create, and shop for costumes for a Playground production. Costume interns are also expected to attend performances and aid actors with costume changes. Saturdays from either 9:00am-12:00pm or 12:30pm - 3:30pm.

Technical Theatre -
Interns will work directly under the YAT technical staff. Activities will include assisting in promotional video filming and editing, set design, set construction, lighting, and sound design. Technical theatre interns are expected to attend and work at a Playground, Court or Woods production. Hours dependent on production schedule.


SuperMe Camps - 
Assist YAT staff in leading day camps for 4th-8th graders. Responsibilities include leading warm ups, assisting in the classroom, helping students prepare technical elements for the final performance, chaperoning students on any outings, and generally assisting the YAT staff. Camps run from 9am-3pm, Monday through Friday throughout the summer. We are looking for interns for individual weeks throughout the summer or for the whole summer. 

The Experiment -
Assists YAT staff and works as camp counselor for "The Experiment," YAT's sleep away camp for teenagers. Responsibilities include chaperoning students during various activities, keeping students on schedule, and upholding students to YAT standards. We are looking for counselors for the week of July 22-July 28.
