Interns at YAT have the opportunity to work in the classroom and/or
at our productions. YAT presents 2 productions every session: The
YAT Kidz (grades K-7) present a classic children's play, and the YAT
Teenz (grades 8-12) present a teenage play.
Internships in the Fall, Spring and Summer Full Sessions are offered
in the following areas:
Teaching/Directing
Assists
the Director of the Kidz or Teenz with classes and rehearsals. This
position may include creating/assisting lesson, leading warm-ups,
directing short scenes, watching over drop-off/pick-up.
This position is expected to be at class every Saturday from 10:00 -
2:00pm during the Fall or Spring Full Sessions.
Stage
Management
Assists
with maintaining the rehearsal studio and run-crew during
production. Stage management Interns also have the opportunity to
assist with classroom lessons and activities.
Costumes/Make-up
Assists with
design/construction and alteration of costumes, make-up and hair.
Music
Opportunity to
develop/play music for productions. Must have access to own
instruments.
Lighting
Assists
lighting hang, strike, circuiting and focus during productions.
Set
Design/Construction
Assists
with the design/construction of set. Scenic painting is also a part
of this internship if desired.
